Anti-viral jab
Written by Hannah Tan

Hey guys! *smile* I remember telling you about the importance of making sure you take preventive measures with the current flu virus by washing your hands thoroughly (including your finger-nails) with alcohol based gel-like hand sanitizers as often as you can to destroy viruses and bacteria which can linger on tabletops, telephones and other surfaces and transferred via the fingers to the mouth, nose or eyes.

Since infections can happen by simply touching something with flu viruses on it and consequently touching your mouth or nose, it’s important that you keep a sanitizer with you at all times for the ease of cleaning your hands, even if you’re no where near a washroom. And if you can, get an A/H1N1 anti-viral jab from your local doctor just to be safe ya. *smile* Not many clinics have this latest influenza vaccine though. I called 15 clinics this week to check, but only 1 of them had the vaccine and even so, it’s quickly running out of stock.

I finally got my shot today at Klinik Koo in Taman Tun for RM90. It was out of stock the last few days, can you believe it?! *laugh* One thing you have to make sure though is that the box carries the year 2009 on it, since older flu vaccinations may not contain the H1N1 strain. If there are any doctors here, please correct me if I’m wrong ya… *smile* This is what the box should look like – take note of the right hand corner on the box which states “Strains Cepas 2009”.

Also, drinking lots of water is vital for our bodies, yet, thanks to my health-freak Dad (he's the world's best Dad BTW *smile), I recently discovered the importance of making sure the water you drink is alkaline based.

My dad's solution for alkaline water - 2 rods that look like hair curlers! Haha.

Since Japanese scientists and medical studies in the US have identified the accumulation of acidic wastes in our body (Acidosis) as the underlying cause of degenerative diseases such as Cancer, High Blood Pressure, Diabetes, Hypertension, Kidney Problems, Arteriosclerosis, Gout and Eczema etc, it will be essential for us to make sure that we not only try and neutralize the acid levels in our body but bring up the ph to an alkaline level. Most of the food we take are acidic (including meat, dairy, coffee etc) and especially because our body is 70% water, drinking sufficient water to replenish the 2.5 litres we lose everyday is essential and of course, even better if it’s between the ph of 9 and 10 to help neutralize the stored acids and toxins. Hope this helps. *smile* Share the info with your family and friends, and encourage them to get vaccinated too k. Better safe than sorry. *smile* Big hugs~

Thanks Hannah for the info *smile*. Will definitely check out the local clinics here for Vaxigrip. I think those ppl who are always on the go should seriously consider taking the vaccination.

As for normal pH, various body systems will monitor the level to stay between 7.35 and 7.45. This is slightly on the alkaline side of neutral (7 on a scale of 1-14). Although claims have been made that a diet high in alkaline food or water will slow down the aging process or inhibit the growth of cancer cells, there is no human research to support this. Cancer cells may die in a test tube environment more alkaline than the normal body, but healthy cells cannot survive in that kind of environment either. So reducing acid levels in the body might kill cancer cells, but it would likely kill the rest of your cells too. In addition, important chemical reactions such as those involved in digestion can only take place within the normal 7.35-7.45 range. That is why the body so carefully moderates its own acid/alkaline balance. So, a well filtered clean water will do for me.

btw, looking cute there! *wink*
