The adventures of this glutton continues… *laugh* Although I’m not the biggest fan of Italian food, sometimes a change of taste is good ya. Haha. Especially if pleasing to the fussy Malaysian tongue. Haha. But so far the best food I've had, whether it be Italian, Chinese, French or even McD's is actually in Tokyo. Surprising but true! Haha. Of course, Malaysia still has the best nasi lemak, BKT, chicken rice, and hawker food la... *laugh* but it's just that the other international flavours are surprisingly better here for some strange reason, although we'd better not talk about he price ya! Haha.
Anyways,
for lunch today my Japanese counterpart wanted to have his favourite - Italian food - so we ended up at this restaurant in Roppongi's Hotel Ibis which I was told, happens to be a favourite among the local Italians too – Sabatini. *smile*
Portions are usually big so we decided to have a set lunch to share, and for the first time, I had a taste of blood orange juice. *grin* Juice from a type of orange called the blood orange, not anything else ya. Haha.
If you’ve never heard of it, the blood orange is actually similar to a normal orange, except that it’s flesh is blood-coloured, and it’s relatively smaller in size. *wink* The distinctive dark flesh colour is actually due to the presence of a pigment called anthocyanin which is common in many flowers and fruits other than citruses.
Health freaks will also be pleased to know that anthocyanin is an antioxidant which can help reduce the risks associated with many ailments including age-related illnesses, cararacts, heart diseases and certain types of cancer, besides bad cholesterol build-up. *smile* Haven’t seen any in Malaysia though. Have you? Because apparently it’s quite common in many other countries. Maybe I’m just too kampung!! Hahaha.
Ooo, and did I tell you that I absolutely LoooOooVE the internet connection in Japan? Haha. So fast! *grin*
greens, not my favourite but essential for the ummm...long calls *laugh*
