Adli and Marv, good guessing but I think the shop signage in the background was a lil’ misleading eh? Hehe. Thought you would’ve saw the bigger “£” sign tho… Haha. Sowie... Anyways London it is and by golly, such a contrast in weather compared to the current hot and humid Tokyo – cool, grey and umm… wet. Haha. Yeah, not the best weather to be out in but I reckon it’s nothing it’s nothing too surprising for London ay? Haha.
Oh and according to www.breakingnewsenglish.com, the short and gloomy days are (believe it or not) responsible for a medical condition known as Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). How appropriately put. *laugh* Well interestingly enough, the aptly named acronym is being increasingly diagnosed by doctors in countries that have generally dismal and depressing weather, England (and London specifically) being one of them. Haha.
Not surprisingly, over 5 million people in UK alone suffer from SAD during winter. It is common knowledge that people in northerly latitudes feel miserable at this time of year (poor things, now I appreciate the hot Malaysian weather a bit more… *laugh*). Apparently, a lack of chemical serotonin, which the body receives from sunlight, can induce a range of symptoms in levels varying from mild to severe. A serotonin deficiency triggers the release of another hormone responsible for making animals hibernate. No wonder rainy and gloomy days make us feel snuggling in bed! Aiks! Haha.
Anyways, the one thing that usually gets me out of best most effectively is BREAKFAST! Haha. And today I had the chance to enjoy a nice real English breakfast, making me a happy camper despite the rain. *grin*
my breakfast starter... Hehe
Oh and if you’re trying to lose weight, make sure you don’t skip breakfast since prolonged fasting -— which occurs when you skip breakfast — can increase your body's insulin response, which in turn increases fat storage and weight gain. In fact, skipping breakfast actually increases your risk of obesity, so come on and dig in with me! Hehe.
oh and if you're on a diet, don't do this at home ya... Haha. Salted butter is my weakness la... *sheepish-grin*
