Thai food adventures
Written by Hannah Tan

2 things I consider luxurious – sleep and food! Haha. Today, let’s explore luxury item no. 2 in Bangkok. Haha. One of my must-have dishes here in Bangkok is this crab meat in ‘curry’ gravy. Absolutely heavenly! *grin* Imagine a thick lemak sauce (which is in NO way spicy *laugh*) with chunks of fresh crab meat. *smile*

Anyways, today I had the opportunity of having dinner at one of my favourite food places for this specific dish – Somboon. *smile* This is one restaurant that is perpetually full, not to mention the fact that they do not accept payment via credit card (it’s all cash terms). The coconut shake (my favourite drink in Thailand) here was not too bad, but the shark’s fin soup was excellent! For the price you pay (RM60 for a serving fit for 4), you get more than your money’s worth of real shark’s fin chunks, crab meat and slices of black mushrooms. The tom yam here’s not too bad either, although the boiled prawns are still nowhere near KK’s standard. Haha.

shark's fin soup *big-grin*

Let’s eat! Hehe.

prawns (sorry I 'ter'-makan before taking the pic! haha)

ET, sorry ya.. haha. And yes, you should start your own food adventures too. Haha.

Esquire, sawadeeka… Haha. Funny la you, but yes yes must check out Somboon sometime! *smile* Oh and hope I answered your question on the mask in my most recent post. I’m trying to see if I can bring some into KL since WHO already mentioned that the virus is spreading like wildfire and expected to evolve and be around for at least a year or more… Anyways, will update you guys once I get new ya. *smile*

Marv, I think very soon, I’m gonna be walking like one! Haha. And I totally agree with you on the prawns bit. Aiya, I’m getting hungry again! Haha.

My bad, actually they steamed it instead of boiling it to maintain the sweetness..*wink*

Wah! I love crabs also boh! But, lucky I don't walked like one.. *laugh*

Talking bout boiled prawns, freshness is very important. A dash of salt into it is all you need to do and you're in glorious juicy heaven.. *grin*
