The portal was officially launched yesterday at Studio V in 1 Utama and although I was stuck at the recording/mixing studio for the entire day (to finish the second mix for “ANGEL”), I snuck out for a good hour to gate-crash the event. *laugh* Couldn’t stay for long though (and missed the opening gambit because the event started late), but I was fortunate to have the chance to catch up with some old friends from the industry while I was there. Believe me, this is as much socializing I’ll be able to do for the next 2 months…so NOT happening I am… *laugh*

Because the album “REDEFINED” is taking forever to complete, I’m contemplating on releasing a single for Angel and Indah first. For Christmas. Let me know what you think and if you reckon it’s a good idea, we’ll go ahead with it! *wink* For now, I wanna seek your honourable council first… *bow* *laugh*
2010 calendars will be put to production soon, once I get my existing work load cleared and out of the way! So much to do, so little time! Haha. Yeah, I definitely need 48 hours to a day or at least a clone to delegate the load. God, please help!!!! Haha.
Meantime, please keep 27th November evening free ya. I’ve been invited to perform at Aloha Club in Solaris (yet to check it out *laugh*), so make a date with me ya. I took your advice about the year-end concert so we’re working on putting that in motion specially for you, hopefully during the week before Christmas, so keep December free as well ya (that would most likely be a bigger gig compared to the 27th of November). Anyways, I’ll keep you updated as we go along. *smile*
Spending the weekend in the studio to work on an R&B Jazz duet version for “ANGEL” (soooooo excited!) so more sounds for you to listen to within the month. This is therapy for me – music. Ahhhh… haha. Today I’m declaring the night off to work on 2 proposals for the Christmas idea. If we get sponsors in then we’ll be able to do it on a bigger scale. Otherwise probably at a club level, but regardless, YOU are my special guests. Please continue to keep me in prayer ya. I depend very much on God’s grace and your love to keep me going, with the lack of sleep and crazy crazy schedule I have to conform to. I’m grateful I have you! *smile* Big hugs and lotsa love back at you! Hehe. Mwah~
I just finished meeting my tax consultant after today’s movie press conference at Menara Celcom (I just found out that they're one of the sponsors! Haha). It’s THAT time of the year again where we go through the number crunch and tabulate how much we owe the government. So exciting… *laugh* 2009 has been a rather challenging one, not to mention hectic *laugh* but I believe all that I’ve had to brave this year has only made me stronger. I’ve also come to appreciate the fact that without you guys in my life, things would never be the same. Thanks for being my pillar of strength, not to mention my panel of consultants. *laugh*
The movie is something I’m definitely looking forward to, being my first Malay film, so I’m hoping that the existing hype will translate into sales for the Producers so that we can perhaps land ourselves a potential sequel! Hehe. Again, please keep expectations low at my end as I have a lot to improve on, but still, do support the film and make sure you watch it more than once ya!!! Haha. Promise….??? *smile*
This weekend for me will be one in the studio working on my 2nd Malay song. It’s actually an old cover song which I thought would be good to revive. Can’t wait to let you listen to it! Hehe. Still gotta crack my head on the music video funding/sponsorship bit so if you have any ideas, bounce them off me here k!
The rain is making the day so glum, but I feel happy just thinking about you guys and how much you brighten up my day with your comments and love. Thanks for everything guys. Love you back. Mwah!
I’m back in the Malaysian rat race again! *laugh* Panda on the loose! Haha. Having a day off on my birthday last Sunday was a real treat for me indeed. I enjoyed every moment of it, lounging at home in my pyjamas. Haha. The day ended with dinner with one of my closest buddies Jamie and her sister June over Japanese food. Yes, food therapy can never go wrong! *laugh*
Since Monday, I’ve been back in motion with business and interviews and although I still have a flooded mailbox to clear (dread that bit! *laugh*), I’m glad I’m back at work in KL after a good productive trip to Tokyo. *smile* My new Japanese management and boss Hayakawa san have been really good to me and I’m definitely looking forward to making out first Japanese record soon! *smile* The no-sleep cycle continues in Malaysia with my never-ending work load though… *laugh* But I enjoy the work I do so no complaints. Just need to try and get more rest when I can, that’s all. *smile*
Having our press conference for My Spy the movie tomorrow among many things (gotta meet my tax consultant also, aiks!) so trying to finish up on today’s load, including an email interview before I get down to working on a new set of presentation slides for my government grant application (we got through to the next round of evaluations, yay!!! Thank God!).
I hope the week started off on a good note for you. I’m sorry for being away lately. It’s just that my 24 hours have not been sufficient for the load I had to clear in the last 2 weeks, hence the rush with my blog posts. Sowie bout that ya… I love you guys for being so patient and understanding. Mwah~ Big panda hugs and please continue to keep me in your prayers ya. *smile*
Surprise – that’s what my wonderful team and close friends treated me to this evening in conjunction with my 28th birthday this year, right after I came home from ANGEL's mixing session at the studio. Haha. And best still, we were not only surrounded with exceptionally great company, but also lotsa food. Glorious food. *big-grin* I feel so lucky to have the best team and friends in then entire world. Hehe. Feeling really happy to be back indeed! Hehe.
huffing and puffing to put out the candle, as if singing at the studio wasn't enough work already... *laugh*
food food food!!!
more! hehe
H-factor team off work!!! Haha.
Joey at work! Haha
Thanks guys for making every year the best it could ever be for me. Love love you guys!!! *smile* Tomorrow’s my day off yay! Self-declared holiday for my birthday. *laugh* You can join me on that if you like… *wink-wink*
my working family pic - the most dedicated, responsible, dynamic and enthusiastic people I know *smile*
Anyways, signing off for now. Calling it an early bedtime and rewarding myself with an early night and a sleep-in morning tomorrow! Mwahaha~ Mwah. Big panda hugs!!!
After Day2 at TIFFCOM and pre-production recording at the studio with my new Japan management company, I had the pleasure of being treated to a nice dinner at what the Japanese call izakaya. *smile*
In Japan, izakaya is a food place where alcohol is also available. Japanese go there to drink and eat after work, and it can be equated to a Japanese version of tapas-style dining. *smile* Since extensive food is served and there’s no music (not even the pipe in music like in our regular restaurants), it won’t be considered the same as our Malaysian bars although some people do go there specifically to drink. Learning new things about Japan every day! Haha.
Shogo serving us nabe at an izakaya
Anyways, one of the dishes we had for dinner is a claypot version of our local Malaysian steamboat called nabe. Cooking is done on your own, but it’s nothing too complicated since everything is pre-prepared for you including the soup stock and cut veg/meat. Food was one thing but the company I had was another. My Japanese boss Hayakawa san got me a friend of his named Stuart as my interpreter (he’s Australian BTW) for the recording session and he practically answered all the questions I had on Japanese culture since he himself have been living in Tokyo for several years. Quite a relief having someone to communicate with after not being able to speak much the entire week due my lack of grasp on the Japanese language. *laugh* So ironic to have a white guy interpreting for an Asian girl, but hey, that was the case and all I can say is lucky me. *laugh* Thanks Stuart for making me feel at home and teaching me more about the Japanese customs yesterday! *smile* He's an entertainer himself so check out his blog when you have time – the Japanese blog an average of 3 times a day from their mobile phones. Beat that!!! *laugh*
with the very accommodating and hospitable Stuart *smile*
Among all the food we had, I enjoyed my dessert the most – sweet Japanese persimmons (kaki)!!! Couldn’t have been better and yes, I was one happy camper indeed! *laugh*
