Hiyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaakk! Haha. Y’know I actually forgot to take off my mask in this pic! Haha. So funny! Anyway, the food adventures in Bangkok continues. This time round it was nothing too fancy – I merely had foodcourt food @ Emporium. Yet it wasn’t too bad at all since they have sugar, sauce, chilli flakes and the works for you to add on yourself to suit your individual taste buds. *smile* I tried the beef noodle soup and it was surprisingly pretty decent for foodcourt standards. Haha.
Interestingly enough, there was a flower exhibition going on at this particular mall in conjunction with the Queen’s birthday for which the whole nation celebrated Mother’s Day (since they look up to the Queen as a ‘mother’ figure). Both inside and outside of the mall were filled with colourful flowers in full bloom. So beautiful *smile*
Oh and in answer to your question about the mask Esquire, the nose bit has 2 layers and apparently, it can filter out 99.9% of germs associated to Influenza A, common colds, measles, pneumonia, SARS, tuberculosis etc. Not too sure what the brand is since it was given to me by a friend but I’m trying to see if I can bring supply into Malaysia since this one’s the best that I’ve tried so far. Keep you updated once I get news ya! *smile*
Oh and I read in the local news that WHO has warned that 20 to 30% of our Malaysian population is expected to be infected with the swine flu virus with more severe cases and deaths (now 38). It’s really sad so let’s do our part in protecting ourselves and the people around us by whatever means we can. The least we could do is encourage our friends and loved ones to stay in and avoid crowded places, especially the clubs and malls AND of course, keep a mask on everytime you step out of your homes. Don’t forget your hand sanitizers too ya! *smile* Spread the word! *smile*
2 things I consider luxurious – sleep and food! Haha. Today, let’s explore luxury item no. 2 in Bangkok. Haha. One of my must-have dishes here in Bangkok is this crab meat in ‘curry’ gravy. Absolutely heavenly! *grin* Imagine a thick lemak sauce (which is in NO way spicy *laugh*) with chunks of fresh crab meat. *smile*
Anyways, today I had the opportunity of having dinner at one of my favourite food places for this specific dish – Somboon. *smile* This is one restaurant that is perpetually full, not to mention the fact that they do not accept payment via credit card (it’s all cash terms). The coconut shake (my favourite drink in Thailand) here was not too bad, but the shark’s fin soup was excellent! For the price you pay (RM60 for a serving fit for 4), you get more than your money’s worth of real shark’s fin chunks, crab meat and slices of black mushrooms. The tom yam here’s not too bad either, although the boiled prawns are still nowhere near KK’s standard. Haha.

Let’s eat! Hehe.

2.30am in Bangkok. I finally managed to get connected back in my hotel room. Another long day out, but I’m so happy I got to chat with you earlier. Quite a task getting to finally chat with you guys since I was out at that time and nowhere near a wi-fi place (not to mention the fact that the place I finally found HAD wi-fi but at a fee, and that my bat was dead and after I went through the whole ordeal of exchanging my seat for one with a powerpoint, I realized I didn't have an adapter with me for the Thai AC plug points!)*... laugh* Nevertheless, it was definitely worth the effort. *smile* Anyway I wanted to show you this! Hehe. Don’t forget to get yours ya! *grin* Gonna keep this post short because I think I’m gonna pengsan anytime now. *laugh* Well, I’m gonna get some sleep tonight. Yay!
Anyways I’ll post up some food pics from Bangkok as promised, so stay tuned guys. Big panda hugs for now while I get some precious sleep. Sweet dreams to all. Mwah~
If you have time today, join us for this month’s family hour ya! 9pm Malaysian time. Will be doing my best to get a good internet connection from where I am in Bangkok so am really looking forward to chatting with you later tonight. *smile* It’s 2.30am and I know I should be getting some sleep since I have to be up in another 4 hours but I thought I’d put this up first. *smile*
I read about the rise of the H1N1 death toll cases, and I just wanna remind you guys to wear a mask every time you step out of your homes, and ESPECIALLY when you’re out in malls, banks or even at the office and college/school. It’s definitely not something to be taken lightly and it’s always better to be safe than sorry. Besides, it’s not uncool to wear a mask. *smile* I’m getting used to this new habit and actually took a pic in my mask for you the other day but my camera got stolen together with all its contents of course. *laugh* Oh and if you haven’t gotten your H1N1 vaccination, please get down to doing so ya. Make sure you call to reserve your shot first though - http://hannahtan.com/index.php/20090519261/Health-and-Fitness/Anti-viral-jab/ *smile*
Anyway, here are the last few pics I took in KK with my mobile phone. Sorry about the quality of pics and bear with me until I get my new cam ya! Haha. I hope these won’t make you feel too hungry. Haha. Will get some pics of the food here in Bangkok for you as well, but in the meantime, enjoy this very simple yet fulfiling snack! Haha.

this is what my 3rd helping of the dessert looks like. Such a glutton ya... *laugh*
Although I lost my camera in KK, I still love the place, its people and its fresh seafood! Haha. BTW, I’m so sorry I didn’t realize that there was an error in the last post (have corrected that). And now that I have pics from the shoot thanks to the hot and talented Amie, I want to share them with you because for the first time in my history of work in the entertainment industry, I had the pleasure of being accompanied by a cute four-legged friend on set. Haha. Alow me to introduce you to Ipman. Hahaha..
