Hey guys. Need your advice on this. Any recommendations for one that's not too huge to lug around? *laugh* My existing Canon seems to be very sensitive to motion so pics tend to be a bit blurred...

Pole Dancing Anybody?
Written by Hannah Tan
Saturday, 06 September 2008

The challenge - to learn as much of pole dancing as possible in 4 hours. Subjects of  the challenge - Pietro and myself. The outcome - humour! *laugh* Showdown of the Clorets Amateur Pole Dancing Competition took place a few hours ago, at Zouk KL. The few practise sessions and lessons Pietro and I received prior to this were finally put to the test. 4 hours of what our brains, legs, hands, body and what-was-left after the lessons, could take. *laugh*

with_pietro.jpg

I dare not say much about the performance except the fact that Pietro did an amazing job. He's an absolute darling to work with and we certainly shared a lot of laughter in the process of learning and getting acquainted with the umm... pole. *laugh* For him, it was the challenge of defying gravity. Mine - well, as you would've already know, I have two left feet. *laugh* I'll leave it to you to figure the rest out. *laugh* We had quite a good crowd at the event earlier. Spontaneous and fun. *smile*

The finalists were GOOD. Surprisingly, 2 of the contestants were guys! But hey, thanks to them, I now have a new-found respect for male pole dancers. You can forget about men looking feminine on the pole. Think Usher and JT. Manly yet sexy. It takes a lot of muscle control to pull off the moves they did, and boy oh boy were we all impressed.

Liang emceed the event with so much spunk and wit that all of us had a ball, despite our nerves kicking in prior to the lil' performance (that'll be me, to be more specific). *laugh* Liang's got such a cheerful, happy and pleasant personality he reminds me of sunshine. *laugh* If you didn't already know, that guy's got talent. *smile*

final_photo_op.jpg

It's been a wonderful experience with the pole, and thanks to our talented and hot instructors  at Viva Vertical, Vee and Lola, we managed to pull through. Oh and thank God we were put out on stage before the professionals. At least it didn't make us look so bad... *laugh*

2 of the youngest most talented male pole dancers I know - Adam and John *smile*

Oh, oh... hehe. Well, I have a confession to make. *laugh* Leonard and I got a bit cheeky during the wait for my next appearance on stage and this is what happened... *laugh*

 sash.jpg

And no, I didn't get to keep the sash. *laugh* But thanks to the team at Cadbury Malaysia and Clorets, I had an unforgettable experience with the campaign. To Claire, Karen and the rest of the team, thank you for allowing me to share my first experiences with the sport together with  all of you and the rest of Malaysia. *smile* You know I can never live without  chocolates, and when the song I wrote about these lil' wonders is ready, you guys will be the first to hear it!  *grin* BTW, if EVER my doctor tells me I have to stop eating chocolates because of diabetes or anything similar to that, I'm blaming you!  *laugh* Anyway, thank you ladies for sharing the love... *smile*

The team at Cadbury Malaysia with Karen (far left), Claire (on my left) and the company GM Blair (the guy that's being carried by the strong STRONG ladies *laugh* He can dance BTW!)

It's been a long day so I'm gonna shower and hit the sack soon... The flu bug kickin in again. Nightey-night guys. *smile* Sweet dreams!

Work Weekend in Penang (re-post)
Written by Hannah Tan
Friday, 05 September 2008

Hope you guys had a good and restful weekend in conjunction with the Merdeka celebrations. *smile* My team and I were in Penang from Saturday through Monday, particularly for the JTI Freedom Merdeka Countdown event at Momo, which was a blast. *smile*

Our favourite hotel, the Shangri-La Rasa Sayang Resort Hotel was once again our gracious host for the weekend. For me, the place always gives me a sense belonging and comfort, the feeling of being home away from home. I couldn't have asked for more. *smile*

As usual, service at the hotel was immaculate and although I didn't have the chance to use any of the facilities due to time constraint, I managed to treat myself to a restful sleep during the night on the comfy bed! *smile* Luxury on its own. *smile*

Am definitely looking forward to a nice long weekend by the beach once the H-Factor Campaign is over. I'm down with flu, fever and a bad throat so struggling to stay sane during work this week. Makes me even more nervous about my pole dancing routine with Pietro this Friday! *laugh*

Will any of you be there to catch the event at Zouk? *wink*

The H-Factor Fever is here!
Written by Hannah Tan
Wednesday, 03 September 2008
After months of planning, we are proud to announce that our pioneering effort for the first ever Nationwide Creative Youth Workshop is on schedule to gate-crash your city this October! *grin* Ladies & gents, boys & girls, we present you... *drumroll* the H-Factor

The H-Factor Fever is here!

Please note of the most recent change of dates and venues for KL and JB ya. *smile* We will also be having an additional speaker/personality with us in Penang and KL - Pietro Felix of MIX.FM! *wink*

For each venue, it'll be a 1-day workshop from 10.30am - 6.30pm with all the speakers. Tap into your creative side. *smile* Whether it be in the area of dance, music, acting, comedy, radio or even motion graphics and animation, this workshop will be a fun way to discover your hidden talents with the assistance of your favourite celebrities like Harith Iskander, Hans Isaac, Serena C, Pietro Felix and Reymee of Innuendo. *wink* We also have the industry experts like Joey Khor of Hue Visualab, Fellast Yan of Wild Stream Productions and a very special guest, mentalist David Lai to impart their technical skills and know-how's for you to possibly pursue a career in the respective fields.

Learn, experience, observe and have fun, all at the same time. Even if you don't think you have talent in any of the specific fields, you can always join in and who knows? Perhaps discover a hidden talent? *wink*

All it costs for you to be a part of this workshop is a minimal Administrative Fee of RM30, payable either via MOL ePoints (which you can purchase at any 7-Eleven store). More details coming to you soon!

However, because of the venue capacity, we can only accommodate a limited number of people for the workshops - 1000 participants for Penang, 500 participants for JB and 200 participants for Kota Kinabalu. As our online family, we're opening up the first 30 registrations for you guys to make sure you too, can be a part of this. *wink*

If you're part of our online family, aged between 16 - 25 and would like to be a part of this workshop at any of the venues, pop us an email at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it so that we can save a spot for you! *wink*
