Konichiwa!!! *grin*

How was your weekend guys? *smile* 15 days of Chinese New Year – 3 down, 12 more to go! Haha. Hope you’re having a good one with your families. *smile*

I spent half of the 1st day of CNY at Disney Sea and the other half at home nursing a throat infection and a bad migraine, but no complaints since I had the day off. *smile* Pics from Disney Sea up in the next post but meantime, I wanted to show you my Japan Alien Card! Hehe.

Just collected it this morning at the Shinagawa City Hall. *grin*

I know being called an ‘alien’ sounds really weird but in Japan it simply means foreign. *smile* Basically, the ”Alien registration” is a system used to record information regarding foreign residents in Japan. If you’re not a citizen of Japan and if you’re gonna be staying in the country for more than 90 days, you’ll need one of these cards, which is a pre-requisite to many things in Japan such as purchasing a mobile phone, opening a bank account or obtaining a driver's license etc.

The process of applying for this is not complicated and will just require an application form, your passport and 2 ID pics. Since the Japanese are so efficient, you only have to visit 1 counter to get this done and consequently collect your card in 2 weeks. *smile*

Wish I had a better pic tho…!!!! *laugh*

To all our Chinese online family members, Gong Xi Fa Cai and to those not celebrating Chinese New Year, Happy Valentine’s Day! *big-smile*

Although I’m unable to be with my family for the festivities this year, I’m grateful I can still spend time with them today via Skype! Hehe. What would we do without technology? Haha.

Our new addition to the family - Buddy! Hehe.

Dad practising his Japanese with me...haha. Go dad!!! *grin*

My family being so thoughtful actually sent me a nice surprise – love in a box (literally! Haha) – to cheer me up. It came with a nice love letter from home too – a CNY card from mum!!! Hehe. Love you mum! *smile* Thanks dad, Vic, Glo and mum for the goodies and for making me feel so loved. I couldn’t have asked for more – God gave me the best family indeed! *smile*

goodies from Malaysia! *grin*

And of course, there’s also YOU, my dearest most precious online family that have also made the difference. *smile* Thank you for all your CNY wishes via Twitter and our Facebook Fan Page. Makes me feel so loved. Thank you so much and big BIG hugs for you! Mwahhhhhh!

Oh and that reminds me – “ANGEL” the single goes on sale starting today!!!! So don’t forget to get your copy from Starbucks from today (14th February) until 31st March k. It should be at the 40 Starbucks stores listed below from this Sunday through 31st March and I’m so excited! Hehe.

It’s a national holiday in Japan today so no work! Just trying to catch up on all my work emails and correspondences and then I have to study for my Japanese language test tomorrow… :-( …but hey, I have donuts to keep me company so no complaints! Hehe.

What are your plans for CNY/Valentine’s this weekend? *wink*

This week’s pre-production session
Written by Hannah Tan
Tuesday, 09 February 2010

I just got home from today’s day at school and work at the studio. We recorded a new track today. *smile*

I’m beginning to enjoy the pre-pro sessions more now that we’re moving on to more of my personal favourite styles of music. *smile* My management boss is kind enough to give me the opportunity to have creative input in the process so at least it’s not another ‘i-say-you-do’ situation at work. I’m happy and I feel really fortunate to have such a great team who allow me to grow creatively not just as a singer but also as a songwriter and composer. It means a lot to me and I guess that’s one thing that keeps me happy here. *smile* After all, it’s important to like what you’re singing right? *smile*

It was a rather hot day today with temperatures at about 10 – 12 degrees in the afternoon, definitely a good change from the normal chilly weather. Haha. Better for the throat as well… Haha. Oh and Thursday is a public holiday here so I get to have the day off! But having to study for my Friday’s test doesn’t really make it a real holiday does it? Hahaha.

And at class today, my teacher told us we have a full katakana test tomorrow!!!!! Chia lat! Gonna burn the midnight oil tonight again. Pray for me k! I wanna hit at least 90 marks…hehe. Gambarimasu! *grin*

Ok guys, gonna start work now. Meantime, can’t wait for the Single to hit Starbucks nationwide this Sunday – Valentine’s Day! Hehe. Don’t forget to get your copy k! *smile* Love you! Mwah~

New J-pop hair

As promised here are pics of my new Jap makeover! Hehe. It’ll definitely take some getting used to but I could live with this for a while. *laugh*

with my stylist Momoi San *smile*

Got it done at Watanabe Hair Salon in Harajuku by Momoi San and I reckon he did a fantabulous job! *smile* What do you think? Hehe. Cost me ¥23,500 (~RM720) though… but with Japan’s standard of living, it’s considered pretty decent. Gotta stop myself from converting man! Haha. Haih, otherwise sakit hati only… *laugh*

outside the salon *smile*

Gonna be working on a brand new Japanese song for this week’s pre-production. I hit the studios for vocal recording on Tuesday but tomorrow we’ve got a run through with my Japanese vocal coach, Kazyo Sensee after my Jap language school in the evening. Gotta head to the management office earlier tomorrow before heading for school so gotta try and get some sleep soon. *smile*

with brilliant singer Kazyo Sensee and Mr. Kim, a famous and very talented Korean blues musician/singer BEFORE my haircut. Hehe

For those of you who will be going away earlier for Chinese New Year, hope you’ll have a good one with your families. *smile* Gong Xi Fa Cai in advance and eat some extra cookies and collect some extra ang-pao’s for me too ya! Hehe.

Looking forward to spending time with my family VIRTUALLY via Skype this Sunday… which will definitely make up for me being alone in Japan this time round. Haha. Sad but happy at the same time. Oh ya, I just realized that since I’m away this CNY I won’t be able to collect any ang-paos!!!! :-(

Oh well, hopefully if I work hard enough this year, God will prepare a big and special double bonus for me next year! Haha. Ok, I think I’ve been rambling a bit too much already. Time to hit the sack. Hehe. Night everyone. Have a fantabulous week ahead and lotsa love from Tokyo. *smile* Mwahhhhhhh~
