A good friend of mine, Rebecca was recently attacked and robbed at knife-point in broad daylight at the Brabus showroom corner in Bangsar.
Two men on a motorcycle pulled the stunt on her as she was walking around the area heading to Bangsar Village. Thankfullly, with her Martial Arts background (she’s a qualified Kung Fu and Chinese Martial Arts instructor by the way *wink*), she managed to defend herself and even keep the attacker’s knife!
With several cuts, bruises and scratches, Rebecca manged to drag herself to the Bangsar Telawi police station to report the incident. Unfortunately, the case wasn’t looked at very seriously as the officers on duty were even passing the knife around! They obviously didn’t take into account the fact that it could’ve been used as evidence (having fingerprints of the attackers, which were later masked by the policemen’s own fingerprint! *sigh*).

I couldn’t agree more. You gotta watch your surrounding before entering and exiting your house.
I was almost robbed right in front of my very own house. Luckily I was still in my car and I sped off before they could get a hold on me.
Fortunately for me, I escaped. However, my side window got smashed badly and it was only later I learned that it was smashed using parangs!
So please be more cautious all the time!
Guess the police aren’t too familiar with the term forensic evidence.
For those who think they may be in trouble of sorts, try to draw attention to yourself. Eg. if in a car the use the horn, if in a secluded area, try to head to crowded areas.
If you do need to scream for help, scream “Fire” instead (seems to draw more attention)
This is assuming that the robbers aren\’t high, in which case they would probably be less cunning to strike those in numbers.
On the other if they are high(hence, unpredictable behavior) … I’d go with the right to bear arms… of sorts. Arms in this case is in reference to pepper-spray or swiss knives, off the top of my head.
Personally, I think it’s better to assume that they are unpredictable.
Man, that was scary! Hope she’s fine.
ya..hope she’s fine n u hannah..careful k..*wink*wink*
RM 9 Billion from 9th MP to improve facilities & services and this is only what they’re capable of doing?
Sad to say, in my eyes, police force has disappointed me a lot.
Please take care everyone coz it’s a cowboy town out there now.
