I arrived in Manila for the first time on Friday morning for work and had the opportunity to visit the MATRADE office at the Malaysian Embassy right in the heart of town, Makati City.

with Trade Commissioner, the charismatic Arieff Aaron Abdullah
Manila is indeed a beautiful city and unlike most foreign countries, the process of getting adjusted to the surroundings was quite a breeze, simply because the English language is so widely spoken and used here. *smile* Oh and guess what?! I finally got a taste of the oh-so-talked-about Krispy Kreme! *grin* Nice. *smile* I believe if all goes well, Krispy Kreme will be coming to Malaysia very soon, so brace yourselves. *laugh*

sinful indulgence
As I was walking around the mall I came across something that was rather interesting – a church service. Right in the middle of the mall, no kidding. *laugh*

church service at the mall
Oh and if it makes you feel any safer, there are security checks everywhere – at the entrance of malls, hotels, F&B outlets and other public areas. Dogs are also widely used as assistants to security personnels, sniffing luggage bags as hotel guests check-in, etc. If this system was implemented back in Malaysia, I wonder what animals would be used as substitutes… *laugh*

wow! you went to the Philippines. cool… by the way, i’m bracing myself for Krispy Kreme cause the doughtnuts look tasty. mmmmm… i see that it’s really save in Manila. security checks and dogs everywhere really helped in the safety department. but the dogs look so cute. haha. if Malaysia would have used animals for security, i think they would use monkeys. monkeys? yea monkeys…… think about it, Hannah. haha.
Wah! Cool!!! They have church service at the mall….. Interesting. And those doughnuts looks so good. Yummy… Did you finish all of it all by yourself?? The packing of the Krispy Kreme looks nice and classy. And they use for security. Cute!!!
And they use dogs for security. Cute!!! Sori i missed out the dogs!!!!!
I’ve always wanted to go Makati City… However, time doesn’t give me the chance. I’m happy you’ve done so. How’s your stay there, Hannah? Hope you’re enjoying there. =)
what are the differences between krispy kreme, dunkin’ donuts and big apple? ah.. talking about food.. *drools*
Wahh…cannot tahan oledi… gotta get some bite on those doughtnuts…
Jco’s Pavillion…here i come…*wink
Monkeys? *laugh* Now that’ll be a tourist attraction for Malaysia on its own! *laugh* Good one Shaun. *laugh*
Janice, I didn’t get to finish everything by myself unfortunately *laugh*
Oh and Lee Ann, I suppose they’re almost the same except that many say Krispy Kreme just melts in your mouth if it’s fresh. Unfortunately the ones I had didn’t come right off the production line… so it’s hard to judge. Soon, we’ll do the actual comparison when it hits KL ya. *wink*
Chin Siew, KL’s still the best. *laugh* Nothing much in Manila. Didn’t even shop. In general the overall quality of things there is a notch lower, although the people are nice (at least most of them *laugh*) – food, the service industry, local goods etc.
Ahmad, now YOU’re making me feel like donuts! *laugh* Hungry, hungry.
