Cirque du Soleil (French for “Circus of the Sun”) is a
modern circus minus the animals. Each show is a synthesis of circus styles from
around the world, with its own central theme and storyline. Unlike the typical
circus, they draw the audience into the performance through continuous live
music, with performers rather than stagehands changing the props. The costumes,
lights and acrobatic acts make Cirque du Soleil a unique form of live
entertainment. After hearing raving reviews about the show throughout the
years, I told myself I HAD to check it out at least once. Unfortunately, it
never did come to Malaysia.
But I guess the trip to Perth did me good
because coincidently, Cirque du Soleil was showing in Langley Park, Perth! *grin*
Although the performance that afternoon was a little bit of a letdown, I was
happy to have had the experience of watching one of the most talked about live
shows in town. *smile* I reckon the one in Vegas would be awesome, so gotta
start saving up! Haha.
