It’s a day to remember all the very important women in our
lives – be it our biological mothers, our grandmothers, our aunts or even a
non-biological guardian who played an important role in shaping us into the person we
have grown up to be. A great childhood may not be something everyone can relate
too, but regardless of whether you come from a broken or happy family, there is
bound to be a significant someone who assisted in your growing up process. For
some it could even be an older sister or brother. Dates and occasions like this
are great because it gives us a reason to remember these significant people,
and in many ways, let them know how much we love and appreciate them. *smile*
Unfortunately I’m miles away from my mum, yet thanks to the
wonders of technology, I can still let her know that to me, she’s the best
thing that ever happened. Love you mum! *smile* And to all the wonderful women out there, Happy Mother’s Day to you from the entire online family. *smile*
p/s: Just a thought
guys – wouldn’t it be nice if we too in Malaysia could have a public
holiday to commemorate the occasion, just like some other countries? *laugh*

Happy Mothers Day to your mum too Hannah!
Without her there wouldn’t be such a great person like you!
I don’t mind any job in particular but more of the accounting line as am an accounting student.
Hey Hannah Mana Kattana Bananarama piranha, hehe, very well put my friend. I’ve had my share of awkward moments on Mother’s Day or Father’s Day or any particular day commemorating some one specific for that matter. I’ve got friends whose Mother ran off with another man, Father’s in prison, or even orphaned on the day celebrating how grateful we are of our parents. So instead, it’s more important to count the blessings as just what they are, simple blessings from GOD.
To me, Mother’s Day and the other “Days” are meant to be ungentle reminders to those who are susceptible to “busy schedules” and “whatever-you-choose term memory loss”. I mean, it’s bad enough that people don’t care about celebrating appreciation for certain people or they think those are just commercial opportunities of a post-post-modern capitalistic world, NOW they even pressure and force you to buy stuff and spend unwillingly? Remember, unconditional love out of obligation is not love at all!
I’m sorry to sound so bitter and depressing but there are no number of public holidays in the world that could make a person be proactively thankful if they are just not auto-hypnotized… okay, “educated” to be that sort of person. So mothers out there (or you can help tell all the mothers out there), please teach your children well. We are a developing nation, kindly develop minds and values too, it’s more practical!
Happy Belated Mommy’s Day to all! =)
Happy Mother’s Day!!! could’nt afford anything fancy so i did the most cheap yet meaningful thing to my mum, wish her happy mother’s day. haha. ya, i love holidays… haha. do you, Hannah?
Hey Shaun! *smile* Don’t worry, price doesn’t always determine value, so I’m sure your mum was happy nevertheless. *smile* Oh and yes of course, I LOVE holidays. They hardly exist in my world tho…haha. But I’m a happy camper at work, so no complaints. Haha.
Jerome, wah…my name keeps getting longer and longer. I hope that’s a good sign. *laugh* First time I’ve had Piranha though, but it’s cool.. Haha. And hey, I share your sentiments. It’s good to count your blessings. *smile* Thanks for sharing your thoughts *smile*
GW, aww… you’re so sweet. *smile* I’m not sure about being a great person though… *laugh* Are accounting jobs hard to find in NZ?
Yeah they’re having a recession here in NZ
