Mum and dad are celebrating their 3-decade pearl anniversary today. 30 years of marriage to someone is a long time indeed but amidst all the trials and tribulations typical marriages would bring, I’m glad they’re still happy and very much together. Hahaha. Keep it up mum and dad!!!
I remember when my folks would tell me about their wedding day. They got married in a school hall in Penang and mum had to cook the food for the guests all by herself herself before she slipped into her wedding dress to walk down the aisle. Dad didn’t make much but they managed to pull through with a basic ceremony thanks to the help of their friends from church. And y’know what? When mum was pregnant with Yours Truly, she had cravings for crabs!!!! Hahaha. I guess that pretty much explains my love for them too, cooked, of course. Hahaha.
So every time mum had a crab craving when she was carrying lil’ me in here belly, dad would go out to the market to buy 1 crab (he couldn’t afford to take her out to eat) which she would then cook and eat it all by herself at home. One of the many sacrifices dad had to made in effort of raising us kids, which in total sums up to make him the best dad in the entire world! *grin*
Mum too. I couldn’t have imagined a tougher, smarter and dedicated super-mum than mine. I guess it’s the same sentiment you’d share with me about your folks too. Haha. So let’s thank God for good parents or in some cases guardians, and learn to appreciate then in every way we can to make up for all their years of hardship, sacrifice and unconditional love. *smile* Group hug!!!!! Hehehehe.

Aww, this post is just so sweet!
